Objectives of WP 7 led by POLIMI

To establish whether women’s employment fosters social cohesion and full citizenship – or not, and under what conditions.

To get insight into the social, political and economic effects of women’s employment; this include life conditions as well as social and political participation.

To analyze the relationship between female activity (or employment) rates and fertility rates, and more generally, the impact of women employment on the population trends in the future.

To develop policy solutions in order to better connect women choices, those related to employment and those related to procreation.

To get insight into cross-city (country) similarities and differences in the way in which the quality of work (or non-working) affects gender equality and poverty

To get insight into cumulative and/or combined forms of disadvantages; this includes low levels of initial education, social back-ground, divorce etc.

To establish to what extent care provision can facilitate women employment and how women employment can create a new demand for care and new care market with no discrimination for women (especially immigrant women) working in this field.

To propose recommendations for the development of effective care policies and for a coherent care market governance.

To establish whether the provision of care and vocational training stimulates women’s employment and in turn affects structures of inequality and social cohesion.

To development recommendations for governments (EU, national and local) and organisations to improve the employment of women.

To disseminate the results from the analyses
