Objectives of WP 5 led by AAU
- To get a clear view on women’s attitudes and behaviours toward the labour market in 11 cities in Europe, for women in general and different groups of women according to class, ethnicity, their marital/family status, and if they have caring responsibility or not, and which kind of caring responsibility. Information will be collected on attitudes, decisions and behaviours, i.e. how women make use of welfare provisions regarding care and human capital maintenance and investment throughout the life course.
- To get insight into women’s own self-perception from at citizenship perspective
- To get insight into how women’s work situation (position, wages, part-time/fulltime etc.) is related to the gendered division of labour in the household and their cultural orientations.
- To get insight into whether the employment of women is hampered by lack of welfare provisions and what type of welfare provisions (public or private) women prefer.
- To establish how employment affect the participation of women in social and political life, and how employment/non-employment (and type of employment) affect women’s own role perception.
- To compare how local women in different national contexts (related to the different welfare state concepts) are related to the formal and informal employment systems.
- To establish the views and opinions of women themselves regarding the prospect of the EU strategy on growth and employment.
- To develop evidence based recommendations about best practices in relation to female employment.
- To disseminate the results from the analyses
