Objectives of WP 1 led by UHAM

To analyse women’s formal and informal work patterns, women’s employment rates, and the structures of the employment of women concerning working times, qualification level, and wage structures in 11 cities.
To compare the structures of those parts of women who are not included in the labour market with regard to the rates of women in the educational system, in unemployment, in any kind of family leave, in early retirement, for the 11 cities.
To do comparative analyses of the labour market integration, or situation among the non-employed, of women with children under 6 years, and of women who are caring for elderly relatives, in a comparative perspective for the 11 cities.
To analyse gender inequalities in the labour market by comparing the data on women’s labour market integration with those of men’s labour market integration in the 11 cities, and identify gender gaps with regard to the relevant indicator.
To distinguish in the analyses of the situation of women vis-à-vis the labour market between different groups of women by class, ethnicity, age, their marital/family status, type of parenthood (couple/lone parent).
To disseminate the results from the comparative analyses of the work package to policy-makers as well as to academic and broader audiences.
